Range: — Ecuador; Bolivia (LP).
Ecology: —Rare, known from a single Bolivian collection; epiphytic in humid forests; 3000 m.
Notes: — Hymenophyllum lamellatum Stolze , from central and southern Peru, is likely to occur in Bolivia. It has abundant lamellae perpendicular to the plane of the blade, and differs from H. cristatum by the entire involucres and broadly winged petioles. These lamellae may be small and hard to see, or partially obscured by appressed hairs, but are a crucial character for identification. Hymenophyllum mirificum C.V.Morton from southern Peru may also occur in Bolivia. It has entire involucres and unwinged petioles and rachises.
