Type material examined. Cardiastethus longicep s. Holotype: ♀, ‘ Taihorin \ Formosa \ H. Sauter V 1911 ’ [printed, plus ‘VII’ by handwritten at right anterior part], ‘ Cardiastethus \ longiceps \ n. sp.’ [handwritten], ‘ ♀ ’, ‘ Poppius det.’, ‘ Holotypus’ [red square], ‘TYPUS’ [light red square]; mounted on card, segments III–IV lacking; deposited in SDEI ( Figs. 4–6 View FIGURES 4–6 ).

Lippomanus brevicornis . Holotype: ♂, ‘[Ryukyus] \ Uehara \ Iriomote Is. \ Okinawa Pref. \ 26. iii. 2002 L. T. \ K. Yamada leg. ’, ‘ Holotype ♂ \ Lippomanus brevicornis \ Yamada et Hirowatari, 2004’ [pink squre], ‘OPU-IN-HE \ 2009III 0003’ [with black frame]; mounted on triangle card, clavus of left hemelytron removed (glued on same card as a specimen), and abdominal segments VI–IX removed and preserved on slide (glass slide No. OPU-KY077); deposited in OMU .

Remarks. As for the previous species, no new information on the taxonomy and morphology of this species has been published since the original description. Based on the examination of superior digital images of the holotype deposited in SDEI brought me to two conclusions. Firstly, C. longiceps should be transferred to the genus Lippomanus Distant, 1904 based on the following generic level diagnostic characters: antennal segment I not reaching apex of head; distinct setigerous punctures present on posterior half of pronotum, scutellum, and clavus; and lateral margins of hemelytra concavely sinuate on basal halves. Secondly, Lippomanus brevicornis Yamada & Hirowatari, 2004 is confirmed to be a new subjective synonym of C. longiceps based on the general coloration (body overall yellowish brown, with widely darkened pronotal posterior angles and widely darkened cuneus) and length of antennal segment II (much shorter than head width across eyes).

Current status. Lippomanus longiceps ( Poppius, 1915) , new combination.
