Type specimen. Holotype: Female , East Madagascar, near Perinet [i.e. Andasibe], alt. 910 m, “Analamazoatra” forest [recte Analamazaotra], 12 iii 1955, leg. P. Viette; gen. slide no. CIS-7367 (in MNHN).
Diagnosis. The new species is superficially similar to the preceding species ( T. sogai sp. nov.), but it can be distinguished from T. sogai , as noted in the diagnosis of the latter. Moreover, the costal patch on the under surface of the forewing is more distinct and the postmedian streak on the under surface of the hind wing is well indicated ( Fig. 8C View FIGURE 8 ).
Description. Female ( Figs. 8A–C View FIGURE 8 ). Wingspan, 14.0 mm. Head: shiny, bronze yellowish- brown dorsally, with yellowish-white erect scales laterally. Antenna slightly longer than forewing; scape elongated, ochreous white all around; flagellum pale yellow, without annulations. 2 nd segment of labial palpus thickened, arched, yellowish brown on outer surface, pale yellow on inner surface; 3 rd segment slender, longer than 2 nd segment, strongly upturned. Thorax: tegula and thorax bronze mustard brown dorsally. Hind tibia with fuscous rough scales dorsally ( Fig. 8D View FIGURE 8 ). Forewing ground color bronze yellowish-brown, with a median pale yellow costal patch extending downwards as a narrow antemedian fascia; a wedge-shaped costal patch near 3/4 of costa; the costal patch near 3/4 well developed on the under surface of the wing ( Fig. 8C View FIGURE 8 ); venation with R 3 stalked with R 4+5 for about basal 1/4; R 4 and R 5 stalked for about basal 3/5; R 5 running to termen; base of M 1 close to R 3+4; base of M 2 far from M 3 (which is nearer to CuA 1+2); CuA 1 and CuA 2 stalked for proximal 2/3; cell weakly closed; apex angulate; termen slightly sinuate. Hind wing ground color similar to that of the forewing; one vein absent, M 3 and CuA 1 being coincident; M 2 and M 3+ CuA 1 stalked. Abdomen: bronze yellowish brown dorsally, except for the yellowish-white pregenital area.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 8E View FIGURE 8 ): Apophyses anteriores about 2/3 the length of apophyses posteriores. Abdominal sternum VIII deeply emarginated posteriorly (i.e., with a U-shaped mesal notch). Antrum funnel-shaped, small, membranous. Ductus bursae about 2/3 length of corpus bursae; ductus seminalis arising from middle, coiled. Corpus bursae large, elongated; signum dish-shaped, sclerotized.
