Colouration: TYPICALLY bRIGHT TO DULL GREEN, wITH OCCASIONAL GREY mORPHS. PROmINENT bROwN TERGAL mARkINGS. LATERAL fACIAL STRIPES RED OR YELLOw, USUALLY wITH LATERAL YELLOw STRIPES ALONG PRONOTUm AND AbDOmEN; mAGENTA COLOURATION AbSENT; DISTINCT wHITE, AND OfTEN TRIANGULAR, mEDIAN fACIAL REGION.

Diagnosis: THE kARYOTYPE, wITH 2 n ♀ = 15, DERIvES fROm THE COmbINATION Of THE kARYOTYPES Of W. whitei sp. nov. AND W. flavolineata sp. nov. AND IS UNIqUE wITHIN THE GENUS wITH THE EXCEPTION Of W. ngadju sp. nov.. IT CAN bE DISTINGUISHED fROm W. ngadju sp. nov. AND OTHER mEmbERS Of THE GENUS bY COLOURATION, AS DESCRIbED IN THE kEY bELOw.

Distribution: THIS SPECIES IS THE ONLY mEmbER Of THE GENUS TO OCCUR OUTSIDE Of WESTERN AUSTRALIA. IN THE EAST ( FIG. 1b View FIGURE 1 ) IT IS fOUND IN A REGION APPROXImATELY bOUNDED bY THE TOwNS Of MILDURA, AND BROkEN HILL, CObAR AND HILLSTON, wITH A LATITUDINAL RANGE Of 31.27°S TO 34.59°S AND A LONGITUDINAL RANGE Of 141.36°E TO 146.04°E. IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA ( FIG. 1A & C View FIGURE 1 ), IT IS fOUND IN A REGION EXTENDING SOUTH-wEST fROm KALGOORLIE wITH A LATITUDINAL RANGE Of 30.07°S TO 32.06°S AND A LONGITUDINAL RANGE Of 121.24°E TO 124.21°E.

Biology: Warramaba virgo IS AN ALL-fEmALE PARTHENOGENETIC SPECIES RESULTING fROm HYbRIDISATION EvENTS bETwEEN fEmALE W. flavolineata sp. nov. AND mALE W. whitei sp. nov. ( HEwITT 1975; WHITE et al. 1977; KEARNEY AND BLACkET 2008). IT STRONGLY RESEmbLES W. whitei sp. nov. mORPHOLOGICALLY, ESPECIALLY THE mORE NORTHERN POPULATIONS Of THE LATTER. THIS SPECIES mAY OCCUR SYmPATRICALLY wITH W. ngadju sp. nov. AND AT SOmE SITES CAN bE fOUND ON THE SAmE fOOD PLANTS. IT HAS bEEN fOUND ON SHRUbS AND TREES Of THE GENERA Acacia, Senna AND Dodonaea .
