This species was described from England, and is Holarctic in distribution. It is widespread in Europe ( Vierbergen 2022), China ( Mirab-balou et al. 2011), North America and also known from Australia (zur Strassen 2003). This polyphagous species breeds on a wide range of plant species of the family Poaceae View in CoL , mainly on Phalaris spp. The species is very close to R. niveipennis View in CoL , however, it can be differentiated by well-developed inter-ocellar setae and cluster of 4–6 stout setae behind each eye (zur Strassen 2003).

Material studied. All specimens were collected by Aldryhim, Y. N. and Rasool, I., except where otherwise indicated. Riyadh. Rumah, Rawdat Khuraim , 15 females from Polypogon monspeliensis , 30. i.2019, ( BT) ; Hraymla, As Safarat, Safarat dam, 11 females from Avena fatua , 75 females, five males from Phalaris minor ., 10 females from Rumex dentatus , 28.ii.2019, ( BT) ; Zulfi, Rawdat Sabalah, seven females from Phalaris minor , 26.iii.2019, ( BT) ; Al Majmaa, Houta Sudair, one female from Agrostis sp. , 28.iii.2019, ( BT) ; Al Kharj, Yamamah, eight females from grasses, 24.iv.2018, ( SW) , Hathal, et al.
