This genus encompasses five grass-living, apterous species, four of these aere described from Europe, and one ( A. iraniensis ) from Iran ( Alavi 2020). The genus can be recognized from other Anaphothrips genus-group genera by combination of the following characters; apterous, head longer than wide, ocelli absent, antennae with simple sense cones on segments III–IV, abdominal tergites and sternites without posteromarginal craspeda, sternites with discal setae.
