Thrips abdominalis Crawford, 1910: 157 View in CoL

In Arabian Peninsula, this species is recorded from UAE (zur Strassen & van Harten 2008), and is new to Saudi Arabia. It can be recognized easily by the large triangular teeth-like craspeda on the tergal posterior margins, the head distinctly smaller than the pronotum, and pronotal posterior margin with 5–6 pairs setae.

Material studied. Al Baha, Shada Al Aala , two females from Tagetes minuta , one female from Leptochloa sp. , 8.iv.2019, ( BT), Rasool, I . Riyadh. Al-Deri’yya, Sudus , one female from Zilla spinosa , 19. ii. 2019, ( BT), Aldryhim, Y. N. and Rasool, I .
