Anthaxia gianfrancoi View in CoL species group

The newly established A. gianfrancoi species group is characterized by a very prolonged

‘agriliform’ body, metallic greenish-bronze or black coloration, small head retracted into the prothorax, flat or impressed frons, eyes not projecting beyond the outline of the head, not pubescent elytra (the whole body surface evenly covered with fine setae), and regular pronotal sculpture with small but well-developed central grains. The group contains three species: Anthaxia (Haplanthaxia) gongeti sp. nov., A. (H.) libenae sp. nov., and A. (H.) gianfrancoi Bílý, 2000 .
