Report as epibiont on bryozoans: This species was reported on bryozoans found at Pacific coast of Canada, British Columbia, Strait of Georgia ( Wailes 1943; Mccauley & Hancock 1971).
Report as epibiont on other hosts: The species was found on algae and hydroids from Algeria coast ( Maupas 1881, Kahl 1934), on hydroids from Australian coast ( Kahl 1934), the North sea and Atlantic coast ( Sand 1901), Roscoff and Sète ( France) ( Collin 1912), the Yellow sea near Quingdao ( China) ( Chen et al. 2005).
Remarks: Luxophrya limbata is a type species of genus Luxophrya but was discussed in the review paper of Curds (1987) under scientific name Paracineta limbata . However, the generic name Luxophrya was accepted both in Dovgal (2002) and Lynn (2008).
