Remarks.
Homonym of the simultaneously described Melanopsis clavataurinensis Sacco, 1889. Wenz (1928b) invalidly selected the subspecies as valid and introduced Melanopsis subcallosa as replacement name for this species (junior objective synonym; see Art. 24.1 and 57.7).
