Etymology. Name from the Tupi-Guarani ‘ pinima ’, an adjective meaning spotted with different colors on the body; noun in apposition.

Diagnosis. Speocera pinima sp. nov. differs from S. babau sp. nov. and S. piquira sp. nov. by the male having pentagonal SCI in the embolus and slender conductor in the palp ( Figs. 1E–F View FIGURE 1 ; 3E–F View FIGURE 3 ; 4A–B View FIGURE 4 )—while in the other two species it is elongated, and having a preeminent conductor; figs 7E, 12E. The female of Speocera pinima sp. nov. resemble those of S. babau sp. nov. by its long afferent spermathecae and elongated lateral plates ( Figs 5D–F View FIGURE 5 ; 6D View FIGURE 6 ) but differs by oval spermathecae ( Fig. 5E–F View FIGURE 5 ) and tapered and curved terminal depression ( Figs. 5D View FIGURE 5 ; 6D View FIGURE 6 ) in the genitalia.

Description. Male (Holotype). Total length 0.85. Carapace length 0.35, ovoid; narrowing gradually anteriorly, yellow with border black striated, flat pars cephalic, fovea absent ( Fig. 1A View FIGURE 1 ). Clypeus length 0.02, with a pair of long bristles ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Eyes with black border; PME oval; ALE and PLE rounded, ranging from opalescent or white ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ). Colulus triangular with six bristles ( Fig. 6B View FIGURE 6 ). Genitalia externally with long and curved lateral plates, large ventral plate and terminal depression inconspicuous ( Figs 5B – D View FIGURE 5 ; 6C – D View FIGURE 6 ); internally with paired and contiguous spermathecae, and afferent spermathecae with distal narrow area ( Fig. 5E–F View FIGURE 5 ).
