Examined specimens from Theniet El Had are topotypic ( Abeille de Perrin, 1896, as Teniet el Had). Limited literature information on the distribution includes four localities from Morocco (Tarhzef, Atlas Medio, 2000 m; Oulmes; Rabat (alr.); Talmest, Gran Atlas Central, 2000 m: Kocher, 1938, 1956, as Asclera xanthoderes ), three northern Algerian localities ( Bedel, 1885 as Asclera xanthoderes ; Abeille de Perrin, 1895: two of which were confirmed in this paper) and another not confirmed (Edough: Mayet, 1903), and one NW Tunisian site close to the Algerian border ( Švihla, 1988), confirmed by the examination of additional specimens (see above). The distribution of this species is illustrated in Fig. 8 .

Taxonomic remarks. Male genitalia of this species are illustrated in Figs. 1b, d , 2c, d . The aedeagus is straight as in I. sicula , but distinctly shorter and thicker, parameres are distinctly more setose and less divergent than in the Sicilian species. Tarsal claws without a distinct tooth ( Figs. 2h and 3b ).
