Type species. Numinbah insperatus Chandler View in CoL , here designated.

Diagnosis. Head with vertexal foveae connected by short, weakly defined, V-shaped sulcus; lacking dorsal postantennal slits at lateral margins; antennal club formed from large, globular antennomere XI. Pronotum with antebasal sulcus arcuate, sulcus widest at middle between carinate lateral constrictions that are adjacent to lateral antebasal foveae, disc convex; prosternum convexly rounded. Elytra with four basal foveae; discal stria extending to near elytral apices. Promesocoxal foveae present; single median mesosternal fovea; lateral mesosternal foveae simple. Visible tergites 1–4 (IV–VII) subequal in length; only T1 with mediobasal foveae.

Description. Length 1.08–1.24 mm [cleared specimen of N. insperatus examined]. Head triangular, narrower than pronotum; base with indentation at middle, vertexal foveae distinct, connected by short, weakly defined, V-shaped sulcus, vertexal foveae medial to point even with center of eyes; lacking interantennal bridge; antennal tubercles distinct, rounded and glabrous, lacking postantennal slits at lateral margins; 11 antennomeres, club 3-segmented, formed by large, globular antennomere XI, antennomeres IX–X short and transverse, narrower than XI; lacking

ocular-mandibular carinae; gular foveae close in median impression; lacking apicolateral genal tubercles.

Pronotum with posterior margin of antebasal sulcus arcuate between lateral carinate constrictions adjacent to lateral antebasal foveae, sulcus widening to middle, median fovea small and nude, lateral antebasal foveae setose, disc convex; lateral margins rounded to small notch adjacent to lateral antebasal foveae; prosternum broadly convex; lateral procoxal foveae present, apices of foveae nearly touching internally.

Each elytron with 4 basal foveae; discal stria extending to near elytral apex; subhumeral fovea present; with apicolateral notch.

Thorax with single median mesosternal fovea; with simple lateral mesosternal foveae; promesocoxal foveae large; with lateral mesocoxal foveae; lateral mestasternal foveae present, apices touching internally.

Abdomen with visible tergites 1–4 (IV–VII) subequal in length, tergite 1 with widely separated mediobasal foveae, with apices nearly in contact with apices of large laterobasal foveae; discal carinae short, divergent. Visible ventrite 2 (IV) with mediobasal foveae and large laterobasal foveae.

Legs with 2 nd tarsomeres slightly longer than 3 rd tarsomeres.

Female lacking distinctive external sexual characters. Male unknown.

Relationships. Numinbah is a member of the Euplectops group of genera in the subtribe Panaphantina and shares with Eungella Chandler, Sealy Chandler , and Euplectops Reitter the presence of promesocoxal foveae. These are the only genera with promesocoxal foveae among the Australian members of the tribe Trichonychini , with these foveae also lacking in all New Zealand genera of this tribe. Numinbah shares with Euplectops the presence of mediobasal foveae on visible tergite 1 (IV) and visible ventrite 2 (IV).

Etymology. The generic name was suggested by the collecting site being between the Numinbah Valley (Queensland) and Numinbah Nature Reserve (New South Wales). Gender is masculine.
