Genus Ashinkailepas Yamaguchi, Newman & Hashimoto, 2004

Diagnosis. As for the tribe (there is currently only one genus ascribed to the Ashinkailepadini ).

Type species. Ashinkailepas seepiophila Yamaguchi, Newman & Hashimoto, 2004. From cold seeps, depth 1173 metres, off Hatsushima Island, Japan.

Distribution. Japan, northeast New Zealand.

Remarks. This paper adds a second species to the genus Ashinkailepas . However, when the genus was proposed by Yamaguchi et al. (2004), no species diagnosis was provided – on the basis that the genus was monospecific. This is rectified below.
