Adult. See Janse (1954, Pl. 157, Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ). Wingspan 15 mm.

Diagnosis. No diagnostic differences can be detected in external characters.

Male genitalia: the male genitalia of the type specimen, which is preserved in the SAMC, was illustrated by Janse (1954, Pl. 152, Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 - photo; Pl. 162, Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 - line drawing). Similar to those of A. gymnopalpa Janse , but the valva has no a triangular protrusion on the ventral margin, and the cucullus is slightly narrowed toward the end beyond middle in A. cosymbota .

Material examined. The holotype ([ South Africa], Oudebosch, Jan. & Feb.) is deposited in the SAMC, not examined, but the figures illustrated by Janse (1954) are cited here.

Distribution. South Africa (Western Cape) ( Meyrick 1920).
