status

20. Lema (Microlema) decempunctata

Aedeagus ( Fig. 84 View FIGURES 76 – 91 ): Median lobe stubby, ventral edge of median orifice rounded; median foramen shorter than apical half of ventral surface of median lobe. Tegmen baseball-bat-shaped lobe in lateral view and curving dorsally.

Male internal reproductive system ( Fig. 111 View FIGURES 104 – 118 ): Testis large, almost oval and weakly constricted at middle, cream-yellow in color. Accessory glands tubular or sac-like; of a pair of accessory glands, shorter gland 1/3– 2/3 times and longer gland 3/4–1 times as long as maximal width of apparent testis. Lateral ejaculatory duct 1/ 3–2/3 times as maximal width of apparent testis; common ejaculatory duct tapering toward base, a little over than 1.5 times as long as maximal width of apparent testis.

Female internal reproductive system ( Figs. 126, 127 View FIGURES 119 – 138 & 153 View FIGURES 139 – 162 ): 14–15 ovarioles per ovary in Ishigami (Kanagawa Pref., Japan) population, 12–16 ovarioles per ovary in Teramachi (Toyama Pref., Japan) population. Spermathecal organ connected to bursa copulatrix ventro-apically. Spermathecal capsule hook-shaped, cream-yellow and gradually lightening distally and proximally; proximal part of spermathecal capsule complex and twisted, uniform in width except proximal part expanded; spermathecal wall relatively thin; spermathecal duct 1.8–3 times as long as maximal length of spermathecal capsule; spermathecal gland tubular and becoming bold in width toward apex, 1.3–2.8 times as long as maximal length of spermathecal capsule.
