Notes
A common species on alkaline habitats ( Hils et al. 1993), Sarcobatus vermiculatus was found in greatest abundance along the banks of a seasonally wet stream crossing due northeast of MDRS (Fig. 46). Previously placed within the Chenopodiaceae , Sarcobatus is now recognized as the sole genus within the Sarcobataceae ( Behnke 1997; APG III 2009). This species was previously recorded for the nearby San Rafael Swell ( Harris 1983).
