Distribution. Nearctic, transcontinental in Canada, recorded from A/S ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021). Canada: AB, BC, LB, NB, NF, ON, QC, SK, YT. USA: AK, ME (NSR), NH (NSR), NY.

Collection and Habitat data. The NH specimens were captured in maple litter along a stream in a forest, in a deciduous forest, and in a human dung trap; two specimens were captured by flight intercept traps. Collected from July to October. In AK captured in a white birch/willow/trembling aspen forest, a Salix , Betula and Populus tremuloides forest , a mesic Betula , Picea forest, and in mushrooms ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021). In Canada found in a variety of coniferous and deciduous forests. Adults are usually found in decaying mushrooms (often common) on the forest floor, but also in leaf litter and possibly carrion. In AB collected in montane Douglas fir and lodgepole pine forest, low alpine dry slope temperate forest, white birch/willow/trembling aspen forest, and in wetlands ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021).
