Distribution. Nearctic. Canada: AB, LB, NB, NF, ON, QC. USA: CA, NH (NSR).

Collection and Habitat data. One NH male was captured in May by a FIT placed in an old-growth coniferous forest close to the border with Quebec. In Canada found in coniferous forests, mixed forests, and clearcuts; under bark of spruce logs infested with Scolytinae , under tight bark of a dead standing balsam fir, under bark of tamarack infested by the eastern bark beetle, and in lodgepole pine ( Pinus contorta Douglas ex Louden ) logs ( Webster et al. 2009, Klimaszewski et al. 2018). This species seems to be a subcortical specialist.
