Holotype ♂ Label data: Holotype Bathypogon douglasi // Townsville / N. Q / G.F. Hill [Aquisition No.: SAMA Database No 29-001178 ]

Condition: largely destroyed. Head: head has been glued back onto thorax with balsam; eyes eaten out and replaced by balsam; postpedicel of both antennae missing; left palp encased in balsam. Thorax: eaten out; left pleura missing, replaced by drop of balsam. Wings: right wing missing, broken off at base; balsam affixed to radial cells of left wing. Legs: left mid leg missing; left hind tarsi missing except for basal segment; right fore coxae eaten out. Abdomen: abdomen at base glued to thorax with balsam; abdomen has been eaten out and only the 4 basal segments are present. Genitalia: missing.
