(Figs. 3, 4, 27–34, 43, 45)

Type material. Holotype. China: Xizang: ♂, glued on a card with labels as follows: “ China : Xizang A. R., Motuo County, 62k, 29°42′33.73″N 95°35′32.28″E, alt. 2794m, 27.VII.2013, pitfall trap, Zhang & Li leg.” “ Holotype / Ocychinus smetanai / Zhao & Tang” [red handwritten label] ( SHNU) GoogleMaps . PARATYPES. 2♂♂, same as for the holotype. ( SHNU) ; 1♂, Xizang A. R ., Cuona County, Lexiang , alt. 2800–3100m, 27. VI .2013, Wen-Xuan Bi leg. ( SHNU)

FIGURES 1–8. Adult habitus of Ocychinus . 1, 2 O . muotuoensis; 3, 4 O . smetanai; 5, 6 O . huanghaoi; 7, 8 O . caeruleatus Smetana, 2014 (holotype). Scale bars = 2mm.

Description. Measurements of male: BL: 12.8–15.2 mm, FL: 6.7–7.1 mm. HL: 1.92–2.17 mm, HW: 2.10–2.37 mm, EYL: 0.63–0.70 mm, TL: 0.95–1.09 mm, PL: 2.55–2.91 mm, PW: 2.11–2.40 mm, EL: 2.08–2.39 mm, EW: 2.29–2.58 mm. HW/HL: 1.06–1.09, TL/EYL: 1.46–1.73, PL/PW: 1.20–1.27, EL/EW: 0.84–0.95.

Forebody with metallic purple tint, ventral side brownish; abdomen brownish with weak metallic purple tint except segment VIII, the genital segment and apical margin of segment VII which are yellowish; appendages reddish with coxae darker.

Head 1.06–1.09 times as wide as long, roundish, posterior angles entirely rounded, tempora longer than eyes (ratio 1.46–1.73), dorsal surface of head with dual punctation, fine punctures intermixed with markedly coarser punctures, the punctation of middle portion distinctly sparser than that of the lateral portions, interstices densely reticulated, interstices of lateral portions varied from narrower than half diameter of the coarse punctures to about as wide as coarse punctures.

Pronotum 1.20–1.27 times as long as wide, widest point a little before basal half, impunctate midline very indistinct; surface with dual punctation, though coarse punctures mainly present near anterior angles, punctures on lateral portions more or less confluent, interstices similar to that of head.

Elytra 0.84–0.95 times as long as wide, shorter than pronotum (ratio 0.73–0.82).

Abdomen semi-cylindrical, posterior margin of tergite VII without palisade fringe; tergites III–VII with punctation moderately sparse and moderately coarse, interstices transversely microsculptured.

Male. Sternite VIII emarginated at middle of posterior margin; sternite IX ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 27–34 ) slightly emarginated medioapically; tergite X ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 27–34 ) subtrapezoidal. Aedeagus ( Figs. 29, 30 View FIGURES 27–34 ) with median lobe distinctly asymmetrical and sharply pointed at apex, paramere symmetrical in apical half, as long as median lobe, underside of paramere ( Figs. 31–34 View FIGURES 27–34 ) with numerous sensory peg setae in apical portion.

Female. Unknown.

Distribution. China (Xizang).

Remarks. The species may be readily recognized from all other species (except O. motuoensis sp. n.) by the metallic coloration and dense reticulation of the forebody. From O. motuoensis sp. n. described in this paper, it can be distinguished by the smaller body size (FL: 6.7–7.1 mm), the more rounded posterior angles of head ( Fig. 43 View FIGURES 42–45 ), the smaller ratio of TL/EYL (1.46–1.73), fewer large punctures on pronotum ( Fig. 43 View FIGURES 42–45 ), and the sparser punctation of abdominal tergites ( Fig. 45 View FIGURES 42–45 ).

Etymology. This species is named in honor of Dr. Aleš Smetana who established the genus Ocychinus .
