1825 Beitra¨ge: 113. e very good, as is the plate showing a female (see preceding account). The type locality is Morro da Arara (18 ° 069S, 39 ° 489W, Vanzolini, 1992), rendered in the Beitra¨ge as ‘‘Lago ditrara.’’
PRESENT STATUS: Anolis punctatus Daudin, 1802 .
REMARKS: Both the description in the Reise and that in the Beitra¨ge ar goa d’Arara (the spelling ‘‘ditrara’’ on p. 116 is a typographical error corrected on p. 611). There are no specimens in the collection nor is the species listed in Wied’s 1860 manuscript catalog.
