Habitat. 10 specimens were collected from Mytilus galloprovincialis beds.

Locality. Bizerta lagoon (37° 13' 19.29" N; 9° 55' 49.94" E). GoogleMaps

Localities in Tunisia from bibliography. Bizerta lagoon ( Gammoudi et al. 2009; Gammoudi et al. 2011; Gammoudi & Tekaya 2012; Gammoudi et al. 2012a; Gammoudi et al. 2016a).

Other localities in the world. Italy: Livorno, La Spezia, Pisa ( Galleni 1976) and Liguria ( Wenzel et al. 1992) ; Croatia ( Bytinski-Salz 1935); Spain: Mar Menor ( Marquina et al. 2014a).

Remark. I. mediterranea was found to present a pest in a culture of Mytilus galloprovincialis Lamarck, 1819 in Bizerta lagoon ( Gammoudi et al. 2016a).
