Type species. Polycope compressa Müller 1894 .
Composition and distribution. Chavtur (1981: 58) referred three species to this genus from the Bay of Naples and Canadian Basin, Arctic Ocean. Kornicker & Iliffe (1992: 17) described Pontopolycope mylax Kornicker & Iliffe 1992 View in CoL from an anchialine cave in Jamaica.
