Bathymetric distribution: 50–120 m —SW.
Geographical distribution: Gulf of Mexico, South Texas, West Indies, Surinam, North Brazil (AP)—C.
Remarks: In the literature about the Brazilian bivalves, this species is referred as Amusium papyraceum (Gabb, 1873) (e.g., Rios & Oleiro 1968; Rios 1970, 1975, 1985, 1994, 2009; Matthews & Coelho 1979). Currently, A. papyraceum is considered a fossil species (MolluscaBase 2023).
