Vernacular Names: Stolzmann's Ichthyomyine.
Synonyms: Ichthyomys orientalis Anthony 1923 .
Distribution: E Ecuador and Perú.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Taxonomy and distribution reviewed by Voss (1988), who retained orientalis as a subspecies.
