Type locality.

Madagascar, Sainte Marie Island.

Material examined.

1 ♂: MAK-2.

Note.

There is a complex of very similar species around P. elongatus , and future studies may show that the specimen recorded here belong to a different species.

Distribution.

Madagascar ( Guignot 1959-1961; Bertrand and Legros 1971). Distribution within the island poorly known.

Habitat in study area.

Same as Laccophilus flaveolus (see above).
