17. Phyllophaga (Phyllophaga) densepunctata (Moser, 1918)

Redescription. Length 19 mm. Dorsal surface is pruinose; pronotum is densely punctate with crenulated lateral margins, head is roughly punctate, and the clypeus is emarginate. Antennae with 10 antennomeres. The male genital capsule is short, compact, slightly curved ( Fig. 79 View FIGURE 79 ); the parameres are wide, angular, joined at the base by a membranous tissue. The aedeagus is adorned with a long, curved whip at the apex.

Comments. This species was described based on male and female specimens from “Columbien”. Moser (1918a) indicated that this species is similar to P. setifera (Burmeister) , and study of the type specimen confirms this comparison even though the parameres are of different proportions ( Fig. 79 View FIGURE 79 ). There are no recent records.
