Description. Holotype ( Fig. 17a View FIGURE 17 ). Length. Pronotum plus elytron 3.38 mm. Integument ferruginous to black, largely covered with appressed, brown, markedly microgranulate scales. Head with transverse angulate sulcus separating rostral base deeply incised, leading ventrad in front of eye; vertex with radial furrows distinct. Eyes convex. Rostrum shorter than wide (0.83 X), parallel-sided; apical declivity subglabrous, with sparse erect setae; dorsum medially with glabrous costa, posteriorly with median longitudinal impression. Pronotum 1.06 X longer than wide; coarsely punctate; medially with fine glabrous costa, in posterior half undulating and indistinct. Elytra 1.27 X as long as wide; dorsally weakly convex; intervals with rows of erect, curved, claviform scales; sutural interval slightly raised; interval 6 at middle with distinct elongate swelling; with 12 striae; stria 5, 7–8 abbreviated at base and apex. Genitalia. Penis ( Fig. 17b View FIGURE 17 ) with sides of body subparallel to subangulate apex. Apodeme 2.29 X as long as body of penis. Transfer apparatus straight, in apical third curved.

Material examined. Holotype, by monotypy, male: INDONESIA, West Java Prov.: Mt. Pangrango , 7,000– 10,000 ft, I.1936, leg. L.E. Cheesman; labels ( Fig. 17c View FIGURE 17 ); condition: fair, tarsus of left mid leg broken and missing; genitalia in glycerol in microtube; DNA extraction ARC4018 View Materials (GenBank # OR557435) ( BMNH).

Notes. Marshall (1956) based the original description on a single specimen.
