Dimension. Nº. DGEO-CTG-UFPE-1513 ( Fig. 3 P–R View FIGURE 3 ); L= (LV) 0.576 / ( RV) 0.611 mm, H= 0.325 mm, and W= 0.245 mm.

Comparison. Material compared to D. grandiensis (Nº DGEO-CTG-UFPE-1157 and Nº-DGEO-CTG-UFPE- 1158) described and deposited by Tomé et al. (2014) in the Ivan de Medeiros Tinoco Microfossils Collection. The comparison was satisfactory, with the exception of the specimen Nº. DGEO-CTG-UFPE-1157, since they presented identical outlines and posterodorsal and ventral overlapping.

Occurrence and associated fauna. It was recorded in the Santo Antonio section, in all depths and associated with all species. It is the only species that occurs associated with the nannofossils Thoracosphaera sp. and Biscutum sp. (Araripe at al. 2022).

Observations. Tomé et al. (2014) emphasize the sexual dimorphism of this species and describe the male form, however in the present study these forms are described as distinct species, mainly due to the different outlines, since both specimens are smooth.

Stratigraphic distribution. In Africa, it has been commonly recorded in the d’Hama-Koussou Basin, Lower Cretaceous (Aptian) ( Colin et al. 1992). In Brazil, it has been recorded in the Araripe Basin, Crato Formation (Neumann 1999), Aptian; Grajaú Basin, Codó Formation, lower Aptian ( Ramos et al. 2006); Cedro Basin, Crato Formation, upper Aptian (Tomé 2007; Tome & Lima Filho 2010); Potiguar Basin, Alagamar Formation, Aptian ( Do Carmo et al. 2013). In the Sergipe / Alagoas Basin, Krommelbein & Weber (1971) observed the occurrence of this species and called it Ostracode 207 (Nº SMF Xe-22592), which is stored in slide PIA-3-AL (obtained from a depth of 900 to 930 m) in Frankfurt ( Tomé et al. 2014). Additionally found in the Jatobá Basin, Serra Negra Formation, in the strata correlated to the Crato Formation, upper Aptian ( Tomé et al. 2014), and this study in the Araripe Basin, Romualdo Formation, upper Aptian and lower Albian.
