Biology. Mainly species of Cerambycidae , Curculionidae and Buprestidae (Coleoptera) as host, but one species of Sesiidae (Lepidoptera) and two species of Argidae (Hymenoptera) are reported as well ( Marshall 1890; Rühl 1911; Fahringer 1926, 1934; Krogerus 1941; Györfi 1943; Schimitschek 1944; Watanabe 1954; Starý 1957; Tobias 1971; Filippenkova 1971; Shenefelt 1978; Capek et al. 1982; Haeselbarth 1983; Uhthoff-Kaufmann 1990; Campadelli et Scaramozzino 1994; Urano et Hijii 1995; Wang et al. 2009; Yu et al. 2016); in China reared from larva of Ips typographus ( Linnaeus, 1758) ( Coleoptera : Curculionidae ), Monochamus sutor ( Linnaeus, 1758) and Semanotus bifasciatus (Motschulsky, 1875) ( Coleoptera : Cerambycidae ).

China (Heilongjiang, Henan, Hubei, Nei Menggu, Shandong, Shanxi); Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Kingdom.

Note. Watanabe (1950) reported this species from Shanxi (NW. China); Sheng et al. (1992) reported this species from Nei Menggu (NW. China); Yang (1998) reported this species from Henan (NE. China); Wang et al. (2009) reported this species from Heilongjiang (NE. China), Hubei (C. China), Nei Menggu (NW. China), Shandong (NE. China) and Shanxi (NW. China).
