Sasajiscymnus niganulus Tong & Wang sp. nov.

Chinese name: DZẸḧ瓢•

Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. seboshii ( Ohta, 1929) , but can be distinguished from the later by the elytra with black humeral angles, abdominal postcoxal lines recurved toward the base of ventrite and more elongate penis guide (Figs 31a–d, 19g –h). In S. seboshii , humeral angles of elytra are yellowish brown, abdominal postcoxal lines not recurved toward the base of ventrite and penis guide is shorter ( Figs 34a–g View FIGURE 34 , 19j–k View FIGURE 19 ).

Description. TL: 1.94–2.25 mm, TW: 1.38–1.63 mm, TH: 0.90–1.09 mm.

Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence (Figs 31a–c). Head yellow with interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum yellow. Scutellar shield yellowish brown. Elytra black with yellow apices and a large yellowish brown spot in the middle part. Ventral surfaces yellow to black. Legs yellow. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, recurved toward the base of ventrite (Fig. 31d).

Male genitalia: Penis stout, penis capsule with stout outer arm and long inner one, apex of penis constricted with membranous appendage (Figs 31e–f). Penis guide with prominent keel at base in lateral view, then tapering towards pointed apex; parameres about 1/3 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide widest at base, then gradually narrowing to pointed apex (Figs 31g –h).

Female genitalia: Coxites elongate, triangular; styli well developed with terminal setae; spermatheca distinctly curved, with basal ramus and elongate nodulus.

Type material. Holotype: China: Xizang: ♂, 52K–65K of Zhamo Highroad , Motuo County, 2800–3500 m, 13.X.2011, Huo LZ leg ( SCAU) . Paratypes ( SCAU): China: Xizang: 1♀, Zhamo Highroad 113K, Bomi County, 835 m, 30–31.X.2007, Wang XM leg ; 1♂, Pailong Town, Bayi District, Linzhi City , 13.X.2009, Wang XM leg ; 1♀, Hanmi , Muotuo County, 800–2100 m, 5–8.X.2011, Huo LZ leg ; 1♂, Chilongzangbu, Linzhi City , 2200 m, 19.X.2011, Huo LZ leg.

Distribution. China (Xizang).

Etymology. The specific epithet niganulus derives from the Latin words “niger” (= black) and “anulus” (= annular), and refers to the black ring-spot on the disc of elytra.
