Chinese name: G叶ḧ瓢•

Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. lewisi ( Kamiya, 1961) , but can be distinguished from the later by its parameres about 1/4 as long as penis guide, and penis guide approximately parallel sided for basal 1/ 3 in ventral view ( Figs 60f–g View FIGURE 60 ). In S. lewisi , parameres are about 1/3 as long as penis guide, and penis guide is approximately parallel sided for basal 2/ 3 in ventral view, then tapering towards blunt apex (Figs 61f–g).

Description. TL: 1.36–1.58 mm, TW: 0.99–1.18 mm, TH: 0.52–0.67 mm.

Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence ( Figs 60a–c View FIGURE 60 ). Body uniformly black, except antennae, maxillary palpi and legs yellow to yellowish brown. Interocular distance slightly closer than eye width in frontal view. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, recurved toward the base of ventrite ( Fig. 60d View FIGURE 60 ).

Male genitalia: Penis slender, penis capsule with long inner arm but without outer one, apex of penis pointed ( Fig. 60e View FIGURE 60 ). Penis guide approximately parallel sided in lateral view; parameres about 1/4 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide approximately parallel sided for basal 1/ 3 in ventral view, then slightly narrowing to blunt apex (Figs 60f–g).

Female genitalia: Coxites shortened; styli absent; spermatheca worm-like, with basal ramus and nodulus.

Type material. Holotype: China: Xizang: ♂, Shangchayu Town– Xiachayu Town , Chayu County, 1650 m, 27.IX.2011, Huo LZ leg ( SCAU) . Paratypes ( SCAU): Xizang: 3♂ 8♀, Same data as holotype ; 1♀, Cibagou National Nature Reserve , 1615 m, 26.IX.2011, Huo LZ leg.

Distribution. China (Xizang).

Etymology. The specific epithet applanatus derives from the Latin word “applanatus” and refers to the applanate penis guide.
