Chinese name: fflkḧ瓢•

Diagnosis. This species closely resembles S. amplus ( Yang & Wu, 1972) , but can be distinguished from the later by its penis guide approximately parallel sided for basal 1/ 2 in ventral view ( Fig. 48g View FIGURE 48 ). In S. amplus , penis guide is widest at base in ventral view ( Fig. 47g View FIGURE 47 ).

Description. TL: 2.60–3.56 mm, TW: 1.95–2.70 mm, TH: 1.27–1.48 mm.

Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence ( Figs 48a–c View FIGURE 48 ). Head yellowish brown, with interocular distance distinctly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum yellowish brown with a large black spot at base. Scutellar shield black. Elytra black with yellowish brown apices. Ventral surfaces yellowish brown to black. Legs yellowish brown. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, recurved toward the base of ventrite ( Fig. 48d View FIGURE 48 ).

Male genitalia: Penis long and slender, penis capsule with inconspicuous outer arm and long inner one, apex of penis pointed ( Figs 48e–f View FIGURE 48 ). Penis guide long and slender in lateral view, arcuate and gradually narrowing to pointed apex; parameres about 1/8 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; Penis guide approximately parallel sided for basal 1/2 in ventral view, then gradually narrowing to blunt apex (Figs 48g–h).

Female genitalia: Coxites shaped board plates; styli absent; spermatheca worm-like, with basal ramus and nodulus.

Etymology. The specific epithet pseudoamplus refers to the similarity between the new species and S. amplus .
