Sasajiscymnus falcatus Tong & Wang sp. nov.

Chinese name: dz叶ḧ瓢•

Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. applanatus sp. nov. in body size and colouration, but can be distinguished from the later by parameres about 3/4 as long as penis guide (Fig. 50f). In S. applanatus, parameres are about 1/3 as long as penis guide (Fig. 60f).

Description. TL: 1.36–1.58 mm, TW: 0.99–1.18 mm, TH: 0.52–0.67 mm.

Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence ( Figs 50a–c ). Body uniformly black, except antennae, maxillary palpi and legs yellow to yellowish brown. Interocular distance slightly greater than eye width in frontal view. Abdominal postcoxal lines incomplete, slightly recurved toward the base of ventrite ( Fig. 50d ).

Male genitalia: Penis slender, penis capsule with long inner arm but without outer one, apex of penis pointed ( Fig. 50e ). Penis guide approximately parallel sided for basal 1/ 2 in lateral view, then tapering towards pointed apex; parameres about 3/4 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide approximately parallel sided for basal 1/ 2 in ventral view, then slightly narrowing to blunt apex ( Figs 50f–g ).

Female genitalia: Coxites shortened; styli absent; spermatheca worm-like, with basal ramus and nodulus.

Type material. Holotype: China: Yunnan: ♂, Maku Village , Gongshan County, 1600 m, 1.VIII.2010, Wang XM leg ( SCAU) . Paratypes ( SCAU): China: Yunnan: 3♀, Same data as holotype ; 2♂, Heiwadi , Gongshan County, 2020 m, 19.VII.2010, Wang XM leg ; 1♂ 8♀, Longyuan Village , Gongshan County, 1690 m, 24–25.VII.2010, Wang XM leg.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Etymology. The specific epithet falcatus derives from the Latin word “falcatus” and refers to the sickle-shaped tegmen in lateral view.
