Type host. Wood sandpiper, Tringa glareola Linnaeus (Syn. Totanus glareolus Vieillot ) ( Charadriiformes : Scolopacidae ).

Type locality. Tarzar (formerly Aulie-Ata), Jambly Province, Kazakhstan.

Additional hosts. Common greenshank, Tringa nebularia (Gunnerus) (Syn. Totanus glottis [Gunnerus]); Eurasian coot, Fulica atra Linnaeus ( Gruiformes : Rallidae ); green sandpiper, Tringa ochropus Linnaeus (Syn. Rhyacophilus ochropus [Linnaeus]) ( Charadriiformes : Scolopacidae ); Turdus spp. ( Passeriformes : Muscicapidae )— Yamaguti (1971).

Remarks. This species was originally described as Cyclocoelum orientale Skrjabin, 1913 . It was considered to be a synonym of Cyclocoelum (Mediopharyngeum) orientale Skrjabin, 1913 by Witenberg (1923); of Cyclocoelum (Postpharyngeum) orientale Skrjabin, 1913 by Witenberg (1926); of Cyclocoelum (Cyclocoelum) orientale Skrjabin, 1913 by Bashkirova (1950). No oral or ventral sucker described—Skrjabin (1913); Bashkirova (1950).
