Distribution in Iran. Golestan, Mazandaran (Ghahari et al. 2011), Iran (no locality cited) ( Aubert 1966).

Distribution outside Iran. Afghanistan, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, UK, Uzbekistan, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012).

Host records. Orthosia gracilis  , Xestia stigmatica  , Leptidia sinapis  ( Shenefelt 1972; Yu et al. 2012), Cucullia absinthii  , Dasychira pudibunda  , Melitaea Aurelia  , Phragmatobia fuliginosa ( Shenefelt 1972)  . In Europe, it has been reported from Clostera anastomosis  , Acronicta rumicis  , Catocala nupta  , Cucullia asteris  , Orthocia incerta  , Diachrysia chrysitis  , Autographa gamma  , Lacanobia pisi  , Noctua pronuba  , N. fimbria  , Xylina exoleta  ( Fahringer 1936; Yu et al. 2012); in Japan, from Mamestra brassicae  , Xestia c-nigrum  ( Watanabe 1937; Yu et al. 2012) and Phytometra ornatissima ( Watanabe 1937)  . Also, it has been reported from Maniola jurtina  , Pyronia tithonus  , Anarta myrtilli  ( Nixon 1974; Yu et al. 2012). Yu et al.
