Distribution in Iran. Alborz, Tehran ( Hérard et al. 1979), West Azarbaijan ( Žikić et al. 2014).

Distribution outside Iran. Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, UK, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012), Crimea, Denmark, Taiwan ( Shenefelt 1972), USA (introduced) ( Burgess & Crossman 1929).

Host records. Lymantria dispar (summer host) ( Shenefelt 1972; Nixon 1973; Hérard et al. 1979; Papp 2008; Yu et al. 2012), Dendrolimus pini (winter host) (Wilkenson 1945; Shenefelt 1972; Yu et al. 2012), In Japan, the winter host is D. spectabilis ( Nixon 1973; Yu et al. 2012), Dasychira abietes ( Germany) ( Nixon 1973). Shenefelt (1972) reported Liparis auriflua , C. pseudabietis , O. antiquoides , Lymantria monacha , Creatonotos albistiga , Sphinx pinastri, Euproctis chrysorrhoea , Calliteara pudibunda , Orgyia postica , Epicallia villica , Dendrolimus albolineatus , D. sibericus , D. punctatus, Malocosoma neustra, Ostrinia nubilalis were also reported by Shenefelt (1972) and Yu et al. (2012). In Europe, it was reported from Lymantria dispar , Epicallia villisa and Dendrolimus pini ( Fahringer 1936; Yu et al. 2012). In Japan it has been reported from Lymantria dispar , Dendrolimus albolineatus , D. spectabilis , Dasychira pseudapietis and Malacosoma neustria ( Watanabe 1937; Yu et al. 2012), in Formosa, from Orgyia postica ( Sonan 1932; Yu et al. 2012). Other records are: Acronicta rumicis ( Cho et al. 2006; Yu et al. 2012), Calliteara abietis , Clostera anastomosis , Eriogaster lanestris , Euproctis chrysorrhoea ( Tobias 1986; Yu et al. 2012), E. taiwana ( Chen et al. 2009; Yu et al. 2012), Clostera pudibunda ( Mazzoglio et al. 2005; Yu et al. 2012), Dasychira pseudabietis , Dendrolimus albolineatus , D. pini , D. sibiricus , D. spectabilis , Epicallia villica , Malacosoma neustria , Orygia australis postica , Teia antiquiodes ( Telenga 1955; Yu et al. 2012), Dendrolimus punctatus ( Sun and Liu 1958; Yu et al. 2012), D. superans ( Kamijo 1982; Yu et al. 2012), Ivela auripes on Cornus controversa ( Togashi 1981; Yu et al. 2012), Lymantria dispar on Quercus cerris, Q. petraea and Q. rubra (Bouché 1834; Telenga 1955; Yu et al. 2012), Lymantria abfuscata ( Sankaran 1976; Yu et al. 2012), Orgyia australis ( Sonan 1944; Yu et al. 2012), O. thyellina ( Togashi 1981; Yu et al. 2012), Ryacionia buoliana ( Papp 1984; Yu et al. 2012), Yu et al. (2012) reported the following Acrolyta nens , Anastatus japonicus , Brachymeria secundaria , Cirrospilus pictus , Dibrachys microgastri , Dimmockia secunda , Eurytoma appendigaster , E. goidanichi , E. verticillata , Gelis agilis , G. a e r a t o r, G. asozanus , G. b i c o l o r, G. kumamotensis , Lysibia nana , Mesochorus testaceus , M. anomalus , M. gracilis , Mesopolobus subfumatus , Mokrzeckia pini , Monodontomerus aereus , M. minor , Ooencyrtus kuvanae , Pediobius crassicornis , P. orientalis , P. p y rgo, Perilampus sp., Protapanteles porthetriae , Psychophagus omnivorus , Pteromalus apantelophagus , P. semotus , Spaniopus japonicus . In Iran, it has been reported from Phyllonorycter populifoliella ( Žikić et al. 2014) .
