Distribution in Iran. Iran (no locality cited) ( Telenga 1955 as Apanteles viminetorum ).

Distribution outside Iran. Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonai, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA, Ukraine, UK, Uzbekistan, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012).

Host records. Agasthenes varitarsus , Amphipyra pyramidea , Archips rosana , A. xylosteana , Carcharodus alceae , Cnephasia genitalana , Cochylis epilinana , Coleophora nigricella , C. olivacella , C. otidipennella , Elachista adscitella , E. aira , E. compsa , E. dimicatella , E. gangabella , E. gleichenella , E. griseella , E. heringi , E. magnificella , E. nigrella , E. nobilella , E. poae , Etiella zinckenella , Euproctis chrysorrhoea , Gracillaria syringella , Leucospilapteryx omissella , Lyonetia clerkella , Melanagromyza cunctans , Mesochorus discitergus , Noeeta pupillata , Parachronistis albiceps , Phyllonorycter lantanella , Plutella xylostella , Scrobipalpa (Euscrobipalpa) instabilella , Tetrastichus sp., Theresimima ampellophaga , Ypsolopha sylvella ( Yu et al. 2012) . Nixon (1973) and Yu et al. (2012) recorded this species from Elachista freyerella , Elachista humilis , E. albifrontella , E. apicipunctella , E. bifasciella , E. cerucella , E. regificella , E. megerlella , E. trapeziella , E. triatomea . Enormous specimens were also reared from Elachista spp. ( Shaw 2012). Fernández-Triana et al. (2014) reported Elachista poae in England.
