Type material. Holotype male, CHINA: Jiangxi Province, Nanchang County, Poyang Lake , 12.vi.2004, light trap, C.C. Yan ( BDN No. 22069) . Paratypes: 5 males, as holotype.
Etymology. Named after Mr. Chuncai Yan, who collected the specimens.
Diagnostic characters. The species can be distinguished from other members of the genus on the color pattern of abdomen, thorax and legs.
Male (n = 6). Total length 4.43–4.68, 4.57 mm. Wing length 2.23–2.43, 2.29 mm. Total length / wing length 1.91–2.06, 2.00. Wing length / length of profemur 2.11–2.28, 2.22.
Coloration. Head including antenna brown. Ground color of thorax pale brown; scutum with three long black spots; postnotum with brownish black spot ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 15–18 ). Ground color of abdomen pale brown; tergites II– IV and VI each with broad dark band; tergite V with triangular dark spots laterally; tergite VII with narrow dark band laterally; tergite VIII with broad brown band; hypopygium brown ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–18 ). Ground color of legs brown; apex of all femur and tibia dark brown; fore ta 2–5, mid ta 3–5 and hind ta 4–5 dark brown. Wing with round brown spot covering R–M ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15–18 ).
Head. AR 2.92–3.11, 3.04. Temporal setae 20 including 16 verticals and 4 postorbitals. Clypeus with 22– 38, 29 setae. Tentorium 180–205, 194 µm long; 50–80, 62 µm wide. Palpomere lengths (in µm): 60; 70–80, 73; 115–165, 143; 165–205, 192; 245–300, 268.
Wing ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15–18 ). VR 1.04–1.1, 1.07. Costal extension 60–80, 68 µm long. Brachiolum with 3 long setae. Squama with 28–38, 33 setae.
Thorax. Antepronotals 6; dorsocentrals 24–30, 27; acrostichals 26–28, 27; prealars 10–16, 12; preepisternals 20–32, 26; postnotals 3. Scutellum with 20–24, 22 setae.
Legs. Spur on foretibia 78–83, 79 µm long without lateral teeth; spurs on midtibia 58–70, 65 and 73–85, 79 µm long with 9 and 8 lateral teeth; spurs on hind tibia 60–65, 64 and 90–98, 94 µm long with 8 and 7 lateral teeth; apex of ta 1– ta 3 of mid- and hind legs each with 2 pseudospurs; weak comb on foretibia with 20 setae; comb on hind tibia double with 13 plus 16 setae. Hypopygium ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 15–18 ). Tergite IX concave, with 19 setae on each side. Anal point indistinct. Gonocoxite 230–260, 248 µm long, cylindrical, outer margin convex with 8 setae. Gonostylus 115–128, 121 µm long, robust, swollen basally. Megaseta 10 µm long. HR 1.99–2.13, 2.05; HV 3.67–3.96, 3.78.
Female, pupa and larva. Unknown.
Distribution. The species was collected in the Jiangxi province in Oriental China.
