Description of Mycolicibacterium fortuitum subsp. acetamidolyticum R33M4

Cells are Gramstainpositive, nonflagellated and rod shaped. Colonies are circular, flat and beige colored on MA medium after 48 h incubation at 30℃. Cells reduce nitrate to nitrite and are positive for β glucosidase, esterase (C4), esterase lipase (C8), leucine arylamidase, valine arylamidase, trypsin, acid phosphatase, naphtholASBIphosphohydrolase (API 20NE/ZYM). Assimilate Dglucose, Larabinose, Dmannose, Dmannitol, gluconate, adipate, malate, propionate, valerate, 3hydroxybutyrate, Lproline, acetate (API 20NE/ID 32GN) and utilize α Dglucose, Dfructose, Dfructose, Laspartic acid, Lserine, Dgluconic acid, Dglucuronic acid, glucuronamide, citric acid, Lmalic acid, succinic acid, Tween40, β butyric acid, propionic acid and acetic acid as sole carbon sources (Biolog GEN III).
