Latiaxis Swainson, 1840: 306 View in CoL . Type species (by monotypy): Pyrula mawae Griffith & Pidgeon, 1834 ; Recent, Indo-West Pacific.
REMARKS. — The genus Latiaxis is here used in a very restricted sense, including the type species (not present in the southwest Pacific) along with L. pilsbryi Hirase, 1908 and L. hayashii Shikama, 1966 .
