MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Norfolk Ridge. CHALCAL 2: stn DW 76, 23°40’S, 167°45’E, 470 m, 2 dd (Figs 113, 114, 186) GoogleMaps . — SMIB 8: stn DW 152, 24°54’S, 168°22’E, 514-530 m, 1 dd.
DISTRIBUTION. — Norfolk Ridge , shells only in 470-514 m.
REMARKS. — The shell is small for the genus, 6-12 mm high, fusiform with angled shoulder, thick. Protoconch multispiral, of 3.1 conical whorls, 800 Μm high, 760 Μm wide at the base, partly eroded. Protoconch-I of about 1.1 whorls. Protoconch-II of about 2 whorls, with 2 spiral keels, and sculptured with series of axial threads.
Teleoconch of 3.8-5+ whorls. Spire high, conical. Siphonal canal long, with narrow umbilical chink. Teleoconch spiral sculpture of imbricate major cords and minor cordlets. Microsculpture of spiral threads over the scaly spines. Shell ground colour ivory-white, inside aperture bright ivory-white.
The three specimens found do not seem to be juveniles and I suspect they belong to an undescribed species; more material is needed before this can be verified.
