TYPE MATERIAL. — Coralliophila isshikiensis : holotype KPM NG0103721 , figured by Kosuge & Suzuki (1985: pl. 36, fig. 3) and Higo et al. (2001: 69, G2468) [examined good photographs only] .

TYPE LOCALITY. — Off Isshiki, Aichi Prefecture, central Honshū , Japan .

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Norfolk Ridge. CHALCAL 2: stn DW 76, 23°41’S, 167°45’E, 470 m, 1 dd . — SMIB 3: stn CP 4, 24°53’S, 168°22’E, 530-537 m, 1 dd.

New Hebrides Arc. VOLSMAR: stn DW 30, Hunter and Matthew Islands, 22°17’S, 171°18’E, 450-550 m, 1 dd (Fig. 106).

DISTRIBUTION. — Previously known from Japan, in 100-400 m, on rocky bottoms (Higo et al. 1999: 221; Tsuchiya 2000: 409) and the Philippines (Kosuge & Suzuki 1985: 25). Present material from Norfolk Ridge and New Hebrides Arc, empty shells in 470-530 m.

REMARKS. — Two shells are juvenile and the single adult (VOLSMAR stn DW 30) is worn and damaged; identification is thus tentative. Better material is needed.
