Synonymy. Leptognathia forcifera Lang, 1968 ; Tanaella forcifera Sieg, 1986 . Distribution. Ingolf Stn 716, Acapulco-Panama, 9°23∞N, 89°32∞E, 3570 m.
Remarks. This species is only known from two female specimens. The holotype (CRU-2359) is badly damaged since Lang (1968) used this specimen for dissection. The paratype (CRU-2360), however, is undamaged. The biarticulated endopod, combined with the several pointed denticles on the cheliped fixed finger, separate this species from all other species of Tanaella . The females of this species have well-developed pleopods.
