Colletes mongolicus Friese 1914

( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 1 – 24 )

Colletes mongolicus Friese 1914 : LXI (nom. praeocc., nec Pérez 1903). Type locality: Mongolei, nördlich von Zaidam ( China, Qinghai).

Types. Lectotype, ♂, designated by Proshchalykin & Lelej 2013: 316, “Bomyn (Ichegyn) River, NE Tsaidam, Gobi [ China, Qinghai], VI.[18]95, leg. Rob[orovskij], Kozlov”. Paralectotypes: 32 ♀, 41 ♂, same dates and locality as lectotype.

Current status. Valid ( Kuhlmann & Proshchalykin 2013).

Remark. Colletes friesei Cockerell 1918 is replacement name for C. mongolicus Friese 1914 , nom. praeocc., nec Pérez 1903 ( Cockerell 1918: 159). The lectotype which was designated by M. Kuhlmann (2000: 180): ♀, « Mongolei, Monda, 6.08, Friese det.» is not valid, because type series originated from « Mongolei, nördlich von Zaidam, Ende Juni» collected by Roborovsky and Kozlov ( Friese 1914: LIX). The specimen wrongly designated by M. Kuhlmann as lectotype with label « Mongolei, Monda, 6.08» has been collected by Weiske in Mondy, Buryatia ( Kerzhner 1972) and is subsequent (not type) identified specimen (Proshchalykin & Lelej 2013).
