Description. Female (n = 10). Body length 5.5–8.6 mm, polished and covered with punctures and silver setae.

Head 0.5–0.55 × as long as wide. Clypeus 1.4–1.6 × as broad as high, smooth except for dorsal part sparsely punctate, slightly convex in lateral view. Face 1.55–1.6 × as broad as high, punctate, slightly convex medially in lateral view. Frons largely smooth medially. Length of malar space 0.9–1.0 × as long as basal mandibular width. POL 1.2–1.3 × as long as OD. OOL 1.1–1.2 × as long as OD. Antenna with 36–38 flagellomeres. FL I 6.3–7.1 × as long as maximum depth in lateral view and 1.9–1.95 × as long as FL II.

Mesosoma densely punctate. Epomia absent. Mesoscutum without smooth area ( Fig. 11 D View FIGURE 11 ). Speculum with a small smooth area ( Fig. 12 D View FIGURE 12 ). Dorsal surface of propodeum punctate to rugose punctate. Fore wing length 4.5–5.3 mm. Areolet received vein 2m-cu slightly based of the outer angle. Nervellus subvertical, intercepted posterior to the middle. Terminal tooth of fore and mid tarsal claws not larger than other teeth ( Fig. 2 D View FIGURE 2 ). Hind femur 5.5–5.6 × as long as maximum depth in lateral view. Ratio of length of hind first to fifth tarsomeres 4.0–4.2: 2.0: 1.45–1.55: 0.7: 1.3. Hind second tarsomere 5.7–6.7 × as long as maximum depth in lateral view. All trochantelli without an apical tooth on the outer side. Tarsal claws without an accessary tooth ( Fig. 2 S View FIGURE 2 ).

Metasoma. T I 3.1–3.2 × as long as maximum width, smooth to finely coriaceous with a few fine punctures. T II 2.5–3.0 × as long as maximum width. T II and T III coriaceous with a few fine punctures. T IV and T V smooth to finely coriaceous with a few punctures. Ovipositor sheath 1.65–1.7 × as long as hind tibia.

Coloration ( Figs 6 View FIGURE 6 , 10 G View FIGURE 10 , 11 D, 12 D). Body (excluding wings and legs) black. Clypeus except for dorsal margin, a pair of markings of frontal orbit, mandible except for teeth, palpi, ventral surfaces of scape, pedicel and basal segments of flagellum, a spot of scutellum, a pair of spots of mesoscutum, subtegular ridge, postero-dorsal corner of mesopleuron, a posterior spot of metapleuron, each base of T I to T III, each posterior margin of T I to T VII (usually indistinct in T IV and T V), base of S I whitish yellow to yellow. Membranous part of metasomal sternites and posterior margin of subgenital plate brown to blackish brown. Ovipositor reddish brown. Wings hyaline except for apical clouded area of fore wing. Veins and pterostigma blackish brown except for yellowish-brown wing base. Fore and mid legs whitish yellow to yellowish brown. Hind coxa, trochanter, trochantellus and femur reddish yellow except for apical black part of femur. Hind tibia blackish brown to black with subbasal white band. Hind tibial spurs blackish brown. Hind tarsus blackish brown to black except for base of first tarsomere white.

Male (n = 18). Similar to female. Clypeus 1.6–1.8 × as broad as high. Length of malar space 1.05–1.15 × as long as basal mandibular width. POL 1.3–1.4 × as long as OD. OOL 0.8–1.0 × as long as OD. Antenna with 37–39 flagellomeres. FL I 6.5–7.6 × as long as maximum depth in lateral view. Hind femur 5.0–5.7 × as long as maximum depth in lateral view. Ratio of length of hind first to fifth tarsomeres 3.8–4.0: 2.0: 1.4: 0.7: 1.2–1.25. T I 4.0–4.35 × as long as maximum width. T II 1.6–1.8 × as long as maximum width. Face whitish yellow except for a median black area below antennal sockets ( Fig. 10 H View FIGURE 10 ). Malar space whitish yellow ( Fig. 10 H View FIGURE 10 ). Propleuron with whitish yellow area.

Distribution. Japan (Ishigakijima Is., Iriomotejima Is. and Yonagunijima Is.). Outside Japan, this species has been recorded from China, Far East Russia, Taiwan, Korea, Philippines and India ( Yu et al. 2016).

Bionomics. Hosts unknown in Japan. Outside Japan, many pests of paddy fields and pine forests have been recorded (e.g., Momoi 1969; He 1984; Sheng et al. 2013). Adults were collected in January, March, April, May, June and October. Adults are found in somewhat wet, open environments such as paddy fields and pastures.

Remarks. This is the first record of this species from Okinawajima Is., Ishigakijima Is. and Yonagunijima Is.
