Terrestrial shrubs or trees. Distribution in PILA 0–1300 m, low elevation mixed forest, mixed forest in transition to low elevation forest, mixed forest in transition to cloud forest. Global distribution: Honduras to Bolivia, Venezuela, Trinidad, Guayanas, Brazil.
