Straatman ( BPBM); 1 male, same as previous except 17.ix.1963 ( BPBM); 5 males, same as previous except 18.ix.1963 (1 in IZBE, 4 in BPBM); 1 male, PAPUA NEW GUINEA, SE, Mamai Pltn., E of Port Glasgow, 150m, light trap, 16.ii.1965, leg. R. Straatman ( BPBM); 1 male, PAPUA NEW GUINEA, Wau, Hospital Ck., 1250 m, Malaise trap, 18.v.1965, leg. J. Sedlacek ( IZBE); 1 male, VANUATU ( New Hebrides): Efate Is., Klem Butte, 150– 200 m, 5.xii.1978, leg. N.L.H. Krauss ( BPBM); 1 male, VANUATU ( New Hebrides): Banks Is., Vanoua Lava Is, 2 km W, Sola, 0–30 m, Malaise trap, 17.ix.1979, leg. G.M. Nishida, G.A. Samuelson ( BPBM).

Remarks. Known previously only from the type material from New Guinea. Belongs to the group of species as defined under M. acris . Within this group the species is most similar to M. hamulata and M. bicuspis . For distinguishing characters, see Hippa (2007: 35-36).
