Diagnosis. Diplommatina heryantoi n. sp. is characterized by a cylindrical shell with a very narrow umbilicus, a prominent columellar lamella and sometimes a low parietal lamella visible in the aperture.

Shell ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 26 – 28 ; Table 1). Dextral; cylindrical with conical early whorls; with 5–6 whorls separated by a deep suture; protoconch smooth; teleoconch with slightly oblique ribs (50–76 on the penultimate whorl; fewer ribs on the last whorl); with spiral striae between the ribs; whitish; subtranslucent; last whorl rounded, without a distinct constriction; aperture trapezoidal, angular at the transition from columellar to basal side; upper insertion of the peristome ascending towards aperture; insertions of the peristome connected by a distinct callus; peristome expanded, thickened, doubled; aperture with a prominent columellar lamella; some with a low parietal lamella laterally right to dorsolaterally right; with a short spiral palatal fold in the middle of the whorl ventrolaterally left inside the last whorl and with a long radial palatal fold ventrally close to the suture; umbilicus very narrow. Shell height 2.1–2.4 mm, shell diameter 1.2–1.4 mm.

Remarks. Diplommatina heryantoi n. sp. differs from the other Diplommatina species from Java in the cylindrical shell with a very narrow umbilicus, partly with a low parietal lamella visible in the aperture. It is most similar to D. diplostoma , from which it differs in the smaller, cylindrical shell with a more prominent columellar lamella, with spiral striae between the ribs, the outer peristome that is not protruding at the upper palatal side and the open umbilicus.

Habitat. On volcanic soils at 1875–2070 m a.s.l.

Type material. Holotype: Indonesia, Java, Central Java: Mt. Slamet, 2070 m a.s.l., 7°16'S 109°12'E (MZB 15438, leg. Heryanto May 2009, D = 1.3 mm, H = 2.2 mm). Paratypes: Indonesia, Java, West Java: Majalengka, Argamukti, Mt. Ciremai National Park, 6°54'S 108°22'E (MZB 17970/1, voucher to Heryanto 2008, 2009 [as D. auriculata ]); Majalengka, Argamukti, Mt. Ciremai National Park, 1735 m a.s.l., 6°54'S 108°22'E (MZB 17974/31, vouchers to Heryanto 2008 [as P. gedeana ]); Kuningan, Palutungan, 1875 m a.s.l., 06°55'20"S 108°24'40"E (MZB 14838/3).—Central Java: Mt. Slamet, 2070 m a.s.l., 7°16'S 109°12'E (MZB 18894/1, voucher to Heryanto 2012 [as D. duplicilabra ]).

Distribution ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 10 – 14 ). Diplommatina heryantoi n. sp. is endemic to West and Central Java, where it has been found so far only on Mt. Ciremai and Mt. Slamet.

Etymology. The species is named in honour of the Indonesian malacologist Heryanto, who collected a lot of material and also discovered this new species.
